Douglas Young
Douglas Young is a Chartered Accountant who has worked in the insurance industry since 1982. He was educated at Hutchesons' Boys' Grammar School in Glasgow and at The University of Strathclyde, graduating in business administration. He has wide experience in the insurance sector having held senior financial and general management positions with major brokers such as Jardines, Nelson Hurst (now Lockton), and BMS.
Douglas has worked in retail, wholesale and reinsurance broking and has chaired a number of IFA businesses. He is a former Group Finance Director at Towergate having joined the business as Acquisitions Director in 2000. Prior to founding Hansen Young in 2004, he was Managing Director of Ensign Managing Agency which had two Syndicates at Lloyd's.
Douglas works closely with clients on all aspects of strategy, covering business development, acquisition appraisal, exit options, margin improvement and identification of business opportunities

Andrew Linnell
Andrew Linnell has held senior operational and strategic roles in a number of financial service businesses in the UK.
He has gained significant experience through the mergers of Commercial Union and General Accident, and CGU with Norwich Union, of planning and executing merger integration activities, whilst ensuring that a 'business as usual' focus is maintained in operational units through periods of major change and uncertainty
He subsequently played a key role in the start-up team for The Folgate Partnership prior to its merger with the Towergate Underwriting Group to form the Towergate Partnership.
His initial responsibilities included acquisition negotiations, valuation, Due Diligence, integration planning and execution, and insurer negotiations.
He subsequently continued with acquisition and merger responsibilities but with operational responsibility for budget delivery and income enhancement in specialist and non-specialist regional insurance brokers and underwriting agencies, during which time he played a lead role in the development of the Folgate 'Income Model'
In July 2007 he established Xceed Radix Ltd to provide specialist and unique consultancy services

Colin D Smith
Colin Smith has over 40 years practitioner experience of The London Insurance Market, gained in senior operational roles with prominent international brokers. As a by-product of those positions his responsibilities have also included participation in M&A teams covering due diligence and post-acquisition integration. He has also sat on and chaired various market panels and committees, including a London Market Brokers Committee (LMBC) Business Panel from 1998 to 2001.
Since 2003, as a senior management consultant, Colin has been working in the areas of regulatory compliance and broker accreditation for major brokers and insurers in establishing programs to meet FSA compliance requirements. In 2006 he assisted the Regulator of an overseas insurance market with re-evaluation of its regulatory requirements and operational procedures and has advised overseas Brokers on obtaining Lloyd's Accreditation.
Colin's career has embraced most classes of business in Insurance and Reinsurance worldwide and he has travelled extensively within the global insurance industry.

Gary Beaumont
Gary Beaumont is a Director of Hansen Young Limited and has over 20 years practitioner experience of The London Insurance Market. Gary is a Chartered Certified Accountant and has been active in the London market since 1986. He has held senior financial positions in several companies, more recently as Finance Director for a Lloyd's Insurance Broker.
Since 2006 Gary has been working in the area of regulatory compliance and has assisted a number of brokers and insurers to resolve operational, regulatory and strategic challenges. This has included the provision of consultancy services focusing on accounting and regulatory issues affecting insurance entities including the impact of client money regulations and capital adequacy rules.
